Agro Meteorological Advisory Service (AAS) rendered by India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) is a mechanism to apply relevant meteorological information to help the farmer make the most efficient use of natural resources, with the aim of improving agricultural production, both in quality and quantity and to minimize the impact of adverse weather on crops and to make use of favorable weather to boost agricultural production.

Nagaland, the 16th State of the Indian Union, was established on 1 December 1963. It is bound by Myanmar on the East, Arunachal on the North, Assam on the West and Manipur on the South. It lies between the parallels of 98 degree and 96 degree East longitude and 26.6 degree and 27.4 degree latitude North of the Equator.The state of Nagaland has an area of 16,579 sq kms. The state is mostly mountainous except those areas bordering Assam valley. Mount Saramati is the highest peak in Nagaland with a height of 3,840 metres and its range forms a natural barrier between Nagaland and Myanmar.

The Institute is having the accommodation facilities in the Guest House/ KVK Farmer’s Hostel. The Guest House is having limited rooms (2 double bed rooms + 1 VIP room). The KVK Farmers’ Hostel is mainly used for accommodating the farmers’ participants during training or any other various programmes that is being conducted by the Institute. Accommodation will be done only after the approval from The Joint Director/ Programme Coordinator and it will not be entertained without prior approval from the Authority.

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre is situated adjacent to NH-39 along the Dimapur - Kohima route, which is about 25km far from Dimapur having a latitude of 25o45'24"N, longtitude of 93o50'26"E, and altitude of 295m AMSL. The State falls under monsoon zone. The annual rainfall varies from 2000 to 2500 mm. However, the state receives considerable amount of rainfall during pre-monsoon (March-May) and post monsoon (October-November) periods, with an annual humidity of 70 to 80% and average temperature range of 10oC to 25oC...
